An Accepting, Supportive Community For People Whose Lives Have Been Disrupted By Mental Illness: The Sally and Howard Levin Clubhouse
The Branch is proud to offer those living with mental illness a safe, welcoming, and constructive community where they can meet, learn, share, and grow. The Clubhouse is an environment where all members find a place where they can belong.
The Sally and Howard Levin Clubhouse, a licensed psychiatric and social rehabilitation program, is the only Clubhouse in Pittsburgh accredited by Clubhouse International. It adheres to the evidence-based Clubhouse model and the 37 Standards for Clubhouse Programs™ used across more than 300 Clubhouses worldwide. “Clubhouse,” as it is commonly called, helps people whose lives have been disrupted by mental illnesses such as major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, or schizophrenia.
Clubhouse is an accepting, supportive community where members build close relationships with each other and staff and experience a purpose-filled day. Members take an active role in their own progress, working side by side with staff and other members. Those who are able get on a path to meaningful employment. Members come voluntarily to work, set goals, learn life skills, improve their health, and much more.
